Bengaluru: In a significant initiative to reinforce Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and manufacturing activities in Karnataka, the National Small Industries Corporation on Tuesday inaugurated the foundation stone for an advanced Technology cum Common Facility Centre (TCFC) at Peenya Industrial Area.

The centre, being created with assistance from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, is projected to involve an investment of nearly ₹46 crore and is anticipated to emerge as a key destination for technology integration, innovation, skill enhancement and enterprise assistance for MSMEs in Karnataka and nearby regions.

Jitan Ram Manjhi Unveils Foundation Stone
The foundation stone was unveiled by Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi in the presence of Minister of State for MSME Shobha Karandlaje, MSME Secretary Bharat Khera, senior representatives from the central and state administrations, industry organisations, bankers and MSME business owners.

Speaking at the gathering, Manjhi stated that the government is steadily creating modern technology hubs and common facility centres throughout the nation to build globally competitive MSMEs and reinforce India’s manufacturing framework.

He observed that such centres would assist small enterprises in adopting advanced technologies, improving product standards, increasing productivity and generating employment opportunities for young people.

Shobha Karandlaje: Centre to Drive Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje remarked that Peenya, among India’s largest industrial clusters, needs advanced institutional infrastructure to address the rapidly changing technological demands of MSMEs.

She mentioned that the proposed centre would function as a catalyst for:

throughout Karnataka and neighbouring states.

Karandlaje also commended NSIC for initiating the project, noting that it would help close long-standing gaps in technology accessibility and skill enhancement.
